Sasso Morelli (Imola), September 2024 – The traditional Opera Gala, held on Saturday 7 September in the park of Villa La Babina in Sasso Morelli in collaboration with the Emilia Romagna Festival, was a great success. The event opened the new CLAI series of events called " September in Villa ".
Many attended the extraordinary evening which saw two international operatic voices, the soprano Serena Farnoccia and the young Turkish tenor Bülent Bezdüz , perform in the style of great composers and musicians such as Donizetti, Verdi and Puccini.
They were accompanied on the piano by Ludmil Angelov , a sensational Bulgarian musician, who also performed two pieces for solo piano by Chopin and Liszt.
The artists treated the audience to a journey through the great Italian opera season between the 19th and early 20th centuries, performing the most beautiful arias, including sweet love poems and poignant reflections on their own destiny. They also performed two classic Neapolitan songs, "Dicitencello vuie" and "I' te vurria vasà." The concert concluded with a moment of celebration, featuring a duo rendition of the "Brindisi" from La Traviata, with the audience waving their hands.
CLAI President Giovanni Bettini, together with Alba Ferrari Mercelli, introduced the evening.
