Cookie Management

  1. What are cookies?

As clarified by the Privacy Guarantor in its December 2012 FAQ, cookies are "small text files" - made up of letters and numbers - "that sites visited by the user send to the user's terminal (usually to the browser), where they are stored in order to be retransmitted to the same sites the next time the same user visits." Cookies have the function of streamlining web traffic analysis or reporting when a specific site or part of a site is visited, distinguishing visitors from each other in order to provide personalized content, and helping administrators to improve the site and the users' browsing experience. Through cookies, we cannot access other information stored on your device, even if that is where the cookies are downloaded. Cookies cannot load code of any kind, carry viruses or malware, and are not harmful to the user's terminal.

Below you can find all the information about the cookies installed through this site, and the necessary guidance on how to manage your preferences in this regard.

  1. User consent to the use of cookies

When you connect for the first time to any page on the Site, you will see an information banner about the use of cookies appear, allowing you to manage your installation preferences (consent).

The site remembers the choice made by the user, so the short information will not be repeated in subsequent links from the same device. However, the user always has the possibility to revoke all or part of the consent already expressed through the appropriate link accessible in the footer of the site.

If you experience technical problems related to the provision of consent, please contact us through the appropriate channels provided on this site so that we can assist you.

  1. Duration of cookies

Cookies can be:

  • of session, cookies that are stored persistently on the user's computer and are deleted when the browser is closed, are strictly limited to the transmission of session identifiers necessary to enable the safe and efficient exploration of the site while avoiding the use of other computer techniques potentially detrimental to the privacy of users' browsing;
  • persistent, cookies that remain stored on the computer's hard drive until they expire or are deleted by users/visitors. Through persistent cookies, visitors accessing the site (or any other users employing the same computer) are automatically recognized each time they visit. Visitors can set their computer's browser to accept/reject all cookies or to display a warning whenever a cookie is offered so that they can consider whether to accept it. Users can, however, change the default configuration and disable cookies (i.e., block them outright) by setting the highest level of protection.

  1. Type of cookies

Cookies can be:

  • First-party, i.e., cookies that report this website as the domain;
  • Third-party, that is, cookies that are related to external domains.

Third-party cookies are necessarily installed by an external party, always defined as a "third party," not managed by the site. Another type of cookies are so-called"Flash Cookies" (Local Shared Objects), used within Adobe Flash Player to deliver certain content, such as video clips or animations, in order to remember settings and preferences. Flash cookies are stored on the device, but are managed through a different interface than the one provided by the browser being used.

We also use Facebook's pixel technology, a (third-party) tool, consisting of a small programming code inserted into our site, that allows us to collect statistical data, monitor actions taken on our site by visitors, and create custom audience groups to whom we show our advertisements in addition to taking advantage of many other related features.

  1. Nature of cookies

Relative to the nature of cookies, there are several types:

- Technical cookies: are those used for the sole purpose of"carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide such a service" (see Article 122(1) of the Code).

They are not used for any further purposes and are normally installed directly by the owner or operator of the website. They can be divided into:

  • navigation or session cookies, which ensure normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or authenticate to access restricted areas); they are in fact necessary for the proper functioning of the site;
  • analytics cookies (first-party) assimilated to technical cookies where used directly by the site operator to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site itself, in order to improve site performance;
  • Functionality cookies, which allow the user to navigate according to a set of selected criteria (for example, language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service rendered to the same. Users' prior consent is not required for the installation of such cookies (more information in the section Cookie Management below).

- Analytics cookies(third-party): this type of cookies, are not used directly by the site operator, but are made and made available to third parties for statistical purposes. the site has no direct control over individual cookies and cannot control them (can neither install them directly nor delete them). However, you can manage these cookies through your browser settings (follow the instructions below), or the sites listed in the "Managing Cookies" section.

- Profiling cookies: these are aimed at creating profiles related to the user and are used in order to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user when browsing the web. The consent of the person concerned is required for the use of profiling cookies. You can, however, manage these cookies through your browser settings (follow the instructions below), or the sites listed in the "Cookie Management" section.
