Good products that do good. In Imola, home of the agribusiness cooperative CLAI, this imperative has been in the air since its founding in 1962, and in the run-up to each Christmas, if possible, it gains even more value.

Once again this year, it was then decided to renew the valuable collaboration with Banco Alimentare, which will make it possible to donate, as has become a tradition, 250,000 meals* to people in need through affiliated charitable facilities, 80 percent of which will be distributed in Emilia-Romagna. The reason must be sought in what happened in May, when the flood brought drama and devastation for a huge number of families and businesses. There are many - still today, months later - who have to come to terms with the consequences of that catastrophe.

"Usually our year-end solidarity initiative does not have a specific geographic destination," stresses Giovanni Bettini, president CLAI , " but this time we wanted CLAI 's contribution to bring out a strong message as well: never make the mistake of leaving behind those who have suffered the most damage in an area hit with such violence. For so many people, the more months pass, the more the difficulties they face increase. Attention, empathy and altruism are needed more than ever. So I would like to thank our friends at the Food Bank for immediately offering all their extraordinary availability to support us in this new solidarity goal."

* One equivalent meal corresponds to 500 g. of food according to the LARN (Reference Intake Levels of Nutrients and Energy for the Italian population).
