Good products that are good for you. In Imola, home to the CLAI agri-food cooperative, this imperative has been in the air since its founding in 1962, and with Christmas approaching, it becomes even more important.

This year, we have therefore decided to renew our valuable collaboration with Banco Alimentare, which will allow us to donate, as is now tradition, 250,000 meals* to people in need through our partner charities, 80% of which will be distributed in Emilia-Romagna . The reason lies in what happened in May, when the flood brought tragedy and devastation to a huge number of families and businesses. Many people—even today, months later—are still dealing with the consequences of that catastrophe.

" Usually, our end-of-year solidarity initiative doesn't have a specific geographic destination ," emphasizes Giovanni Bettini, CLAI president, " but this time we wanted CLAI's contribution to also convey a strong message: never make the mistake of leaving behind those who have suffered the greatest damage in a region so violently affected. For many people, as the months pass, the difficulties they must face increase. Attention, empathy, and altruism are needed more than ever. I would therefore like to thank our friends at the Food Bank for immediately offering us their extraordinary support in this new solidarity goal ."

* An equivalent meal corresponds to 500 g of food based on the LARN (Reference Intake Levels of Nutrients and Energy for the Italian population).
