Numerous and varied initiatives have been put in place by the Cooperative together with the Butcher Shops of Contadino in preparation for the event that will involve all of Imola from October 21 to November 12. "Mediterranean" is the theme of this year's edition.

President CLAI Bettini: "Being close to the community is one of our core values. We therefore enthusiastically support this traditional food and wine event in the area to help make it even more engaging and tasteful"

Imola, October 2023 - As has been the case for more than 30 years, this Imola autumn will be enlivened by the presence of Bacchanal, the not-to-be-missed food and wine and cultural event organized by the Municipality of Imola and supported since its first editions by CLAI.

The 2023 edition will be held from October 21 to November 12, and, as usual, there will be a red thread that will allow the different initiatives put in place for the occasion to be then declined in a personal and imaginative way: this year the main theme is "Mediterranean." This is a particularly good choice for a company like CLAI, which every day creates products of quality and taste closely linked to the national gastronomic tradition.

"Bacchanal is the food and wine festival of the Imola area par excellence - stresses Giovanni Bettini, president CLAI -. An event that for decades has created numerous opportunities for thousands of people to taste and meet. And CLAI, which makes being close to its community one of its main values, cannot but enthusiastically support this great event to help make it even more interesting every year. The program we have designed for this edition linked to the theme "Mediterranean" is really varied: tastings, visits to establishments, literary presentations, games, cooking schools... Very different moments have been organized in order to stimulate the curiosity of the greatest number of people. "Involve" and "share" are in fact two of the key words at the origin of each of our initiatives. Fully enhancing this program will also be the fundamental support of our Butcher Shops of Contadino, always ready to provide in the area their indispensable contribution of commitment, passion and taste."

And indeed, as anticipated by President Bettini's words, the program fielded by CLAI and the Butcher Shops of Contadino ahead of the Bacchanal is indeed intriguing again this year.

It starts on October 28 at 10 a.m. with the meeting The Passita of Romagna: "between land and sea", to be held in the Multipurpose Hall of Villa La Babina in Sasso Morelli. Present will be Cooperative directorPietro D'Angeli and Salumificio CLAI managerRudy Magnani together with Gabriele Gardini of Research & Development CLAI, who will tell the story of Salsiccia Passita di Romagna. This will be followed by, a guided tour at the Salumificio and "Breakfast in Villa," the time dedicated to lunch and conviviality. The last event of the day will include a guided tour of the splendid historic Park and the Villa. The cost is 35 euros per person and is reserved for a maximum of 30 participants.

Nov. 4 will mark the return of a now traditional event, that of "Conversation in the Villa." Presented on this occasion will be the essay Villa Ginnasi in Ponte Santo di Imola - Pages of Imola life and history. (CARS-Imola Editions). The author is Giampaolo Nildi, who will recount a secret Imola, represented by the villas and their historic parks that widely dot the territory. A description that is interwoven with the history of the people and families who owned them, noble or bourgeois families who will write the city's history.

The third initiative will be held on Nov. 5 at the Contadino Butcher Shop in Inferno Alley. It is a series of "Sensory Games" with an obviously gastronomic theme and related to the Mediterranean. There will also be a day of extraordinary sale of products CLAI with many bargains valid only for this day and others with a longer time horizon such as the three boxes full of products at discounted prices related to the Bacchanal theme and designed to enhance appetizers, aperitifs, first and second courses.

It will continue with the now traditional "Cooking School," which this year will be called "Meatsand Cold Cuts in the Mediterranean Tradition" and will be held on Nov. 10, 11 and 12, also at Villa La Babina. Participants will be involved in the preparation and execution of recipes combined with the theme of Bacchanal. Of course, the preparations made can then be taken away with them. The cost in this case is 25 euros per person.

It closes in a big way with the "TastingBanco d'assaggio dei vini e dei prodotti agroalimentari dell'Imolese e Olimola," the tasting event that will be held at the Autodromo Enzo and Dino Ferrari at two different times: on Friday, November 10, from 6 to 11 p.m., and Sunday, November 12, from 4 to 10 p.m. A successful format that was already well received last year. Admission will cost 15 euros, which will allow seven coupons (six for wine and one for food) with which tastings can be made. Additional coupons will then be available for purchase in the tasting hall.
