The Cooperative has organized numerous and varied initiatives in conjunction with the Macellerie del Contadino (Farmer's Butchers) in preparation for the event that will involve all of Imola from October 21st to November 12th. "Mediterranean" is the theme of this year's edition.

CLAI President Bettini: "Community involvement is one of our core values. We therefore enthusiastically support this traditional local food and wine festival to help make it even more engaging and flavorful ."

Imola, October 2023 – As has been the case for over thirty years, this autumn in Imola will also be enlivened by the presence of the Baccanale , the unmissable food and wine and cultural event organized by the Municipality of Imola and supported by CLAI since its first editions.

The 2023 edition will be held from October 21st to November 12th And, as usual, there will be a common thread that will allow for a personal and imaginative interpretation of the various initiatives launched for the occasion: this year's main theme is " Mediterranean ." A particularly fitting choice for a company like CLAI, which every day creates high-quality, flavorful products closely tied to Italy's gastronomic tradition.

« The Baccanale is the food and wine festival of the Imola area par excellence – underlines Giovanni Bettini , president of CLAI –. An event that for decades has provided numerous opportunities for tasting and meeting for thousands of people. And CLAI, which makes closeness to its community one of its core values, can only enthusiastically support this major event, helping to make it even more interesting each year. The program we have devised for this edition, themed "Mediterranean," is truly varied: tastings, factory tours, literary presentations, games, cooking schools... A wide variety of events have been organized to stimulate the curiosity of as many people as possible. "Engaging" and "sharing" are, in fact, two of the key words underlying every one of our initiatives. This program will also be fully enhanced by the fundamental support of our Farmer Butchers, always ready to provide their indispensable contribution of commitment, passion, and flavor throughout the area .

And indeed, as anticipated by the words of President Bettini, the program put in place by CLAI and the Macellerie del Contadino in preparation for the Baccanale is truly intriguing this year too.

The meeting starts on October 28th at 10.00 am The Passita di Romagna: “between land and sea  The event will be held in the Multipurpose Hall of Villa La Babina in Sasso Morelli. The director of the Cooperative will be present. Peter D'Angeli and the manager of Salumificio CLAI Rudy Magnani together with Gabriele Gardini of CLAI Research & Development, who will tell the story of the Sausage Passita di Romagna. This will be followed by a guided tour at the Salumificio and the “ Breakfast in the Villa ”, the moment dedicated to lunch and conviviality. The last appointment of the day includes a Guided tour of the splendid historic park and villa . The cost is €35 per person and is limited to a maximum of 30 participants.

November 4th will mark the return of a now traditional event, that of the " Conversation in the Villa ". On this occasion, the essay will be presented Villa Ginnasi in Ponte Santo di Imola – Pages of Imola life and history (CARS-Imola Editions). The author is Giampaolo Nildi will tell the story of a hidden Imola, represented by the villas and their historic parks that dot the landscape. This description intertwines with the stories of the people and families who owned them, noble and bourgeois families who would go on to write the city's history.

The third initiative will be held on November 5th at the Macelleria del Contadino in Vicolo Inferno. It is a series of " Sensory Games " with a gastronomic theme and linked to the Mediterranean. A day of extraordinary sale of CLAI products With many offers valid only for this day and others with a longer time horizon, such as the three boxes full of discounted products related to the theme of the Bacchanal and designed to enhance appetizers, aperitifs, first and second courses.

The now traditional " Cooking School " will continue, this year titled " Meat and Cured Meats in the Mediterranean Tradition " and taking place on November 10th, 11th, and 12th, again at Villa La Babina. Participants will be involved in preparing and creating recipes related to the Bacchanalian theme. Naturally, the prepared dishes can be taken home. The cost is €25 per person.

The event concludes with a grand finale, the " Imola and Olimola Wine and Food Products Tasting Stand ," a tasting event held at the Enzo and Dino Ferrari Racetrack on two separate occasions: Friday, November 10th, from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and Sunday, November 12th, from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM. This successful format was already a great success last year. Admission is €15, which includes seven coupons (six for wine and one for food) for tastings. Additional coupons can be purchased in the tasting room.
