President Giovanni Bettini: "Andrea Pelliconi's beautiful work perfectly restores the sense of nature, harmony and serenity that we want our green area to evoke in those who come here to enjoy CLAI and Faggiola products."

Milan, August 2024 - One hundred square meters of color, beauty and joy. The electrical tower cabin of E-Distribuzione, a company of the Enel Group, which stands out in the splendid panorama of Palazzuolo sul Senio, within the area where the recently redeveloped structure of the Faggiola dairy farm stands, becomes an artistic heritage available to the territory. Thanks to the collaboration between CLAI, the agribusiness cooperative to which Faggiola belongs, Enel and the municipality, it was decided to invite Imola artist Andrea Pelliconi, better known as Fungo, to give free rein to his creativity to transform the turret into new value available to the community and the many tourists who visit the area.

The result is extraordinary. The four sides of the turret, for all of its more than eight meters in height, now house a large nature-inspired mural filled with trees and animals of different species. The beautiful mountains of the Tuscan Apennines drawn in the background create with their undulating lines a spectacular play of continuity with reality.

"Last year saw the completion of major renovation work on the Faggiola dairy that radically transformed the facility," stresses Giovanni Bettini, president CLAI . "The green area in front of it was also involved, in which the new Faggiola Refreshment Point was created with a picnic area equipped with four covered sheds. A service that has made it possible to make it even more regenerating for tourists passing through the area. From the very beginning we reasoned about the presence of this turret, which is as necessary as it is physically evident. We have to sincerely thank Andrea Pelliconi for the splendid work he has done, which now gives a whole new look to this structure. His work perfectly restores the sense of nature, harmony and serenity that we wish our green area to evoke in those who come here out of curiosity or to buy and taste CLAI and Faggiola products on the spot. We have always been convinced that quality is a value to be applied not only to products but to everything that has to do with people's lives."

The realization of the mural took almost two weeks of work, for about twelve hours a day. However, the most complex part proved to be the design, which obviously had to take into account the special architectural features of the turret and allow it to fit harmoniously into its surroundings.

"I particularly like to reproduce nature," explains artist Andrea "Mushroom" Pelliconi. When the request came to me, I immediately thought of some designs consistent with this environment. I then did some experimentation on cardboard models until I found the creative solution that most convinced me. I had fun playing around with close-ups and close-ups, taking up some of nature's protagonists and taking inspiration for the trees from the British painter David Hockney. The aspect that gives me the most satisfaction is the fact that I managed to "disappear" the edges of the structure, along with the door and, even, the cables. I would like this mural to convey good humor and the choice of colors to give off cheerfulness. In making it, I thought in particular about the many children who will pass by and I would like them to be surprised and fascinated by what they will see."

"Our village is enriched by a true work of art," says Marco Bottino, mayor of Palazzuolo sul Senio, "which fits perfectly into the natural surroundings of Palazzuolo, while softening a concrete electrical cabin.

This initiative is part of a larger project on which E-Distribuzione is working, through which it Search is precisely transforming numerous power substations of the company scattered in different national areas into works of street art, signed by recognized writers and artists.

"This important collaboration with CLAI and the Municipality of Palazzuolo sul Senio," stresses Federico Selvatici, head of the Florence and Province Territorial Unit of E-Distribuzione, "allows us to give a message of sustainability and attention to the environment, which is valuable for the territory. For E-Distribuzione, the initiative is part of a broader urban redevelopment effort that combines sustainability, innovation and respect for the environment. Projects thanks to which power substations are no longer just strategic assets of electricity distribution but also works of art. In recent years, with the projects Cabine del Paradiso, Cabine d'autore, Cabine in Rosa and Energia a colori, E-Distribuzione has embellished hundreds of infrastructures throughout Italy and Tuscany, creating a sort of widespread museum that continues to be enriched with the collaboration of institutions, artists, schools and associations."

Last night, at the very headquarters of the Faggiola Dairy, the inauguration of the new turret was held. Present were, among others, President CLAI Giovanni Bettini, Mayor of Palazzuolo sul Senio Marco Bottino and artist Andrea "Fungo" Pelliconi. The event was enlivened by musical entertainment and accompanied by a tasting at Punto Ristoro Faggiola.
