With "September CLAI in Villa" it will be a month full of events dedicated to good food, music, sports and nature for the Imola area.
The Cooperative transforms the usual festive weekend at the end of the summer into a long month of initiatives such as the 100% Italian Award, the Emilia-Romagna Festival concert, the Cross-Country Race, the Ecological Walk, conferences and visits to the Villa La Babina Park.
President Bettini: "This year, we want to create opportunities for encounter and harmony, dedicating greater attention to each event to encourage even greater participation. It will be a long period of celebration and sharing for our entire community."
Imola, July 2024 Why settle for a weekend? This question inspired CLAI's decision to create a slightly different kind of restart event this year, concluding the summer season. It will be called September CLAI in Villa It will bring together initiatives that are partly already well-known and appreciated, but will further enhance them by dedicating new time, space, and commitment to them. " For our Cooperative, human contact has always been fundamental, and we therefore wish to consolidate our relationship with our community day after day. – he underlines Giovanni Bettini , president of CLAI –. Through CLAI in Villa events, we strive to create opportunities for encounter and harmony, fostered not only by good food, guaranteed by the quality of our products, but also by music, sports, nature, and the celebration of exemplary entrepreneurial experiences with the 100% Italian Award. Rather than "compress" our offering into the limited space of a weekend, this year we have decided to devote greater attention to each individual event, thereby allowing, among other things, a higher level of participation. Together with CLAI, September will become a long month of celebration, gatherings, and sharing throughout the region .
100% ITALIAN AWARD
And as underlined by the president Bettini one of the most awaited moments of September CLAI in Villa it is certainly the conferral of the 100% Italian Award . Through this prestigious recognition, now in its seventh year, CLAI champions the promotion of Italian heritage and traditions by celebrating a personality or company that has distinguished itself through its commitment to promoting culture, work, and solidarity.
This year's award will go to the Community Cooperative Ortika , which through the cultivation of black nettles on the Cimone mountain and the production of clothing and cosmetics, helps keep alive the textile history of Fanano, the Modena town located within the Alto Appennino Modenese regional park. This splendid enterprise has revived the ancient vocation of collecting and processing black nettles , which grow at altitudes of 800 meters and above, and whose stems can be used to create a hypoallergenic and antibacterial fabric. Skirts, trousers, and shirts can therefore be made from 100% nettle, or by processing the stems together with hemp, linen, silk, and wool. In an area at high risk of depopulation, this entrepreneurial initiative also has strong social significance. The awards ceremony will be held Saturday, September 14th during an invitation-only evening that will begin at 7:00 pm in the historic park of Villa La Babina and will continue into the evening with the awarding of the prestigious recognition.
AN EVENING OF BEL CANTO
The 100% Italian Award will, however, represent just one of the events proposed by CLAI to make this month of September unforgettable. In fact, it starts Saturday 7th with An Evening of Belcanto , the Emilia Romagna Festival Concert which will be held at Villa La Babina at 9.00 pm. The evening will be filled with suggestions by the performances of Serena Farnocchia (soprano), Bulent Bezduz (tenor) and Ludmil Angelov (on the piano), for the music of Gaetano Donizetti, Giuseppe Verdi, Giacomo Puccini, Frédéric Chopin, Franz Liszt, Rodolfo Falvo, and Eduardo di Capua . Reservations are required and can be made starting August 5th on the official Emilia Romagna Festival website.
CROSS-COUNTRY RUN AND ECOLOGICAL WALK
The next day, Sunday 8th , the traditional start The CLAI Cross-Country Race , a competitive 12-kilometer race organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Imola and now in its fifth year, begins at 9:30 a.m., departing from the CLAI Management Center in Sasso Morelli. The paid event will take place over two evenings and is limited to a maximum of 140 participants (70 per evening). It will feature a chef-led tasting session to discover the value and characteristics of the cuts, as well as their cooking methods and times.
CONFERENCE ON HISTORICAL GARDENS AND VISITS TO THE PARK AND VILLA
Friday 20th the time for the Conference will come instead Historic Gardens and Climate Change Organized in collaboration with the University of Bologna, this highly topical theme will spark a reflection on the new potential scenarios emerging due to complex phenomena such as the widespread increase in temperatures and the lack of rainfall.
The month of CLAI initiatives will close Saturday 28th with the guided tour of the Villa La Babina Park and the CLAI agricultural park, along the green corridor that connects the historic park to the new forestry plantations, the row of centuries-old oaks, and the lush vineyards. An immersive experience of culture and beauty that is part of the initiatives linked to Naturally Imola - LONG LIVE GREEN Municipality of Imola.
